Mistakes and God - How He uses even the big bad boo-boos.

I have an opinion. It's not very loud, but this is my blog, so I've decided to voice it. If the following offends you, please know that it was not intended to. It is my personal opinion, and I am trying not to be judgemental or speak without thinking. :)

It seems like a lot of teenagers that I meet have this incredible need to be totally perfect. Whether it's put on by themselves or by their parents, it's definitely there and it speaks loudly, especially when you get to know the person. It seems as if it's not ok to make mistakes, and when these people do make mistakes, they run from them and try to hide them, not facing the music or the consequences; and rather putting the blame off on someone else. They feel like if they simply don't address the said mistake and/or problem, it will evaporate out of thin air. But I am living proof that the lessons learned through mistakes, and the courage learned through facing them, will make you grow incredibly in your relationship with Christ. I mean, it's not like we're Jesus. It is our goal to try to be more and more like Him, but we're not going to be perfect. Most of us who attempt to be so forget to remember the Bible. Aside from Jesus, every other Bible story is filled with mistakes that the characters made, and how God taught them through those mistakes. When we try to hide our mistakes, and deny that we even made them, we refuse to listen to the lesson that God could be trying to teach us through that mistake. Just look at Jonah! When he disobeyed God, God threw him into the mouth of a giant fish. When he finally went to Ninevah, did he just walk around and pretend that he had gotten there on his own, and that he obeyed God the moment God said to go? NO! He told the Ninevites his story of running away from God. He warned them that sins are going to be judged. The result? Those Ninevites listened. God used Jonah to change their whole city. What a beautiful, precious assurance we have in Christ, that He is going to minister to us through the examples of other to show us our downfalls! I am so thankful for the many times He's taught me through my own mistakes, and ministered to me through other people's mistakes or experiences. Just recently, God used me to minister to a friend of mine who was going through a similar situation. I had been through a painful year that really shook my relationship with Christ. I had fallen in love, and ended up brokenhearted and betrayed. I couldn't understand why God would allow me to go through so much anticipation for an ending result of devastation. For six months, I hated God. I did not feel His presence in my life at all. I was destitute, longing for the love of man and running from the love of God. Besides, God had betrayed me, right? WRONG. Because I couldn't get past my tunnel vision and see God's greater plan, I was super depressed for six long, hard months. Those months were the darkest times of my life. But God finally used some amazing people: My mother, my "big sister" (now, she was working for us at the time, but she's technically a part of the family.), and a precious young woman from my volleyball team, to awaken me and knock me upside the head. Because I was SO consumed in my own pity, I was missing out on a GREAT relationship with Christ! God comsumed like an unquenchable fire one day, finally. Well, recently, a friend of mine contacted me and asked for help. She's going through a troubled time with a boy and is simply crushed. I am thankful that God has used me to minister to her, to tell her about my time of darkness and that God is the ONLY ONE Who will ever be truly there for her! You know what's beautiful? Today, for the first time in almost two years, I finally feel like God is totally and completely in control of my feelings. And, I couldn't be more thankful. Becauses when God is in control, when He writes the story of your life, I can promise you, it's going to be a beautiful thing. I will remember this emotion, so that during my friend's time of darkness, hopefully God will use me to bring her out more quickly, or not even let her go through one at all. See how ministering through mistakes and experiences can help? A simple "it gets better, I've been there before" can mean the world to someone if we can just humble ourselves enough to say it. To the teenage girl, pregnant out of wedlock, and considering an abortion, a simple "Don't do it, it's not worth it and you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Trust me, I've been there." Can SAVE a life. To the mommy losing her first baby, "I promise you'll see him again someday. I've been there before. It hurts, and the pain doesn't go away, but it dulls. Treasure the time you have.". To the teenage girl about to give away her purity, "I promise you, it is so not worth the hype. Save yourself for your husband. I regret every day the decision that I made.". I know that it's embaressing to admit that we made these mistakes, but the lessons we've learned through these mistakes can save someone from making the same mistake. Don't you think it was embaressing for all the Biblical characters to write about the mistakes that they made? Yes, probably. But look at how many lives that they've affected positively as a result. God uses everyone, and He can use your worst, most embaressing mistake, to His glory.

You just have to let Him.

soooo :)

My word has it been a long time or what? Well, I've really grabbed life by the horns this past year. Grown soooo much in Christ, gained some weight (not good!), and expanded my education. My brother just graduated. Yay? No, super depressing... but that's for another post. Let's just leave it at: he moved out on Sunday and I'm so sad and miss him so much, I can't even tell you.

Other than that depressing fact, life has been good! Full of learning experiences that I'm so thankful for, mistakes I'm glad I didn't make, and mistakes that I'm thankful I was taught through. I cannot even tell y'all how good my God is. :)

Hit me up sometime - dancing4mySavior@gmail.com

I look forward to hearing from y'all soon!

Much love,
Chrissy :)

Forbidden Love - Chapter 2

The party was huge. Hundreds of people, dressed in their finest Christmas garments, clung around the ballroom, parlor, and dining room of the Smithson mansion. Mr. and Mrs. Smithson made their rounds, eagerly smiling at each visitor. "Who is that?" Mr. Smithson whispered agitatingly to his wife. "Mr. Long, my dear! Remember him? He sold us that fine race horse that you gave to Juliet for her 16th birthday!" "Oh, ahem, yes. Of course I remember him!" And then proclaiming loudly, "How ARE you, Mr. Long?" This process continued for the rest of the night. As the host and hostess, it was Mr. and Mrs. Smithson's duty to society to make sure they greeted every single person at their party. They had a long and boring night.

Juliet searched the terrace eagerly from her balcony. She had been looking all night for Romeo, hoping he would show up to her party. A knock at the door turned her away from her sightings. "Come in!" She forced, rather impatiently. "Miss Juliet?" Her maid's face showed from the door. "Yes?" "Your parents are asking for you downstairs." "Tell them I'll be right there!" Juliet replied shortly. "Yes ma'am". The maid circled around and walked back down the stairs. Juliet abruptly turned back to her view from the balcony. She rolled her eyes as she saw Victor making his way into the ballroom, followed by a trail of girls. She glanced over her shoulder at the open door, sighed, and walked towards it. Walking down the stairs delicately, she tried to compose herself. Excitedly pondering whether Romeo would show or not, she stopped before she protruded from the covered stairwell into the light, and breathed heavily. She then walked out into the open, where all eyes turned to her as she made her way down the uncovered stairs. A couple of girls sighed and looked enviously as their beaus stared at Juliet. Forcing a smile, Juliet hurried into the crowd of onlookers, where she was immediantly pursued by Victor. Flirtaciously smiling, he bowed to her. She made a polite but quick courtsey, and moved on until her grabbed her hand. "Juliet...?" He looking into her eyes searchingly, then flashed a smile again. "Yes, Victor?" She forced, rather impatiently. "You will join me for the next reel, won't you?" Juliet's heart sank. She knew she couldn't deny him this. Denying a young man a dance, especially a suitor, was like spitting in someone's face -- Rude and demeaning. "Yes, I will." She replied, her heart sinking even more. "Ahh, yes. I knew you would comply to my reasonable request. I win the honor of dancing with the most beautiful young lady at this party." He flattered her and bragged at his victory. Sweeping her onto the dance floor, they arrived at the center just in time for the music. Gracefully, they flew together across the room, while the onlookers admired their grace. Juliet couldn't help but smile. She loved dancing, even if it was with Victor at a large dinner party. But the moment the dance ended she hurriedly courtsied and rushed off to find Romeo. Searching the crowd, she looked for him. He was nowhere to be found. Juliet sighed disappointedly, and walked to the refreshments room. Peeking in on a lone figure, she smiled and walked in, straight for the hors d'vours. Shyly, she glimpsed straight into the face of Romeo. He turned and smiled as he saw her. "How did you know I made my stand here?" He questioned, smiling all the while. "I knew a young man like yourself would go for the food. I would too, if I could. But I am consistently forced onto the dance floor." She rolled her eyes dramatically and grabbed the nearest biscuit. "Ahh, I see. And you don't enjoy the constant attention?" He asked, sarcastically. "No, I do not. I'm not like most girls." "Oh?" "I'm not. Unlike most girls, I enjoy riding for hours on my horse, Excalibur." "Really?" Romeo said rather quickly, with excitement in his tone. "...Yes. Do you ride?" Juliet asked. "I do! A beautiful chestnut mare named Bullet. And you?" "A black philly called Excalibur." "Oh? How long have you ridden?" "Since I was young," Juliet recalled, "But I recently started up again." "Why did you stop?" He persisted, searching her eyes and seeing insecurity in them. "I... Uh, I had an unfortunate accident." "Oh?" "Yes... I'd rather not talk about it, thank you." Juliet shut herself out from him, finding herself growing red at where the conversation was headed. "I'm sorry. I understand." Romeo backed away from the subject, seeing the spark in her eyes and realizing it was a sensitive subject. "Would you like to see her?" "Who?" "Excalibur, of course!" "Oh! Yes, I would love that." And Juliet grabbed Romeo's hand and led him outside to the stables, where Excalibur rested, warmly snuggled against hay. "Excalibur! Come here, girl!" Juliet coaxed, soothingly. The clopping of the horses hooves were heard as Excalibur campered towards her master. "There, girl!" Juliet smiled as her horse came near her. Excalibur was her closest friend. Juliet would run away with Excalibur for hours at a time, returning to find her parents in a worried frenzy. They always commanded her never to pull the same trick again, but she never listened. Riding was her life, and she would do what she pleased. "Shall we go for a ride? Bullet is out front right now." Romeo asked. "Yes! That sounds delightful. I'll meet you on the ridge in 10 minutes." Juliet replied. And with that, Juliet grabbed Excalibur's saddle as Romeo ran off to get his precious Bullet.

Story time! -- Forbidden Romance

Ok so I'm writing a story.... Tell me what you think!

Chapter 1 -- How it all began

"Juliet..." Was that whisper? She turned around quickly. She could have sworn she heard something. "Juliet..." The whisper again! She paced anxiously. What was that voice? "He is yours." The voice whispered again. "What?!" Juliet jumped. "He is yours." The voice repeated. "Who?" Juliet questioned, uncertainly. The voice inhaled; a deep, restless inhale... "Romeo... Have patience..." Juliet looked around. She was in an empty room! No one was to be found! She sighed and stared into the looking glass. Was she going insane? She evaluated her deep brown eyes and hair. Perfectly in place, her lucious, silky brown hair lay in ringlets around her neck and down her back. Sighing again, she played with the ringlet nearest her hand. "Why am I here?" She questioned herself. Although she was dressed in her fanciest gown, with her hair done up and her face like a rosebud, she didn't feel beautiful. This wasn't her! What she saw in the mirror was a stranger. A girl forced to put on a mask. A girl who didn't belong in her environment. Born into a wealthy family, Juliet was continually forced to dress up and go to fancy balls and weddings. All she really wanted, however, was to run away from all the hub bub with her horse, Excalibur. Excalibur was the only one who truly understood her. Her parents refused to let her stay at home. "This is the most important ball of the year!" they exclaimed. "Do you know how many suitable, rich young men will be there? How many great names will be there? Who knows! You might meet a prince!" Juliet finally gave up her persisting to stay at home. It was no use! Her parents were convinced that she was going to marry a rich prince and become queen of some country one day. And no wonder! Juliet was the most beautiful girl in all the land. Tall and elegant, with fair skin and light brown hair and eyes, she was the exotic knockout. Ever since she was 14 years old, young men of honorable families had been pursuing her. Now, at 17 years old, she was as beautiful as ever. She turned heads everywhere. And beauty wasn't her only virtue! She was intelligent, kind, and talented. An incredible artist, she could draw the most beautiful paintings with the whip of a brush. And oh, could she dance! For hours on end, the young men lined up just to hold her close for one two step, one waltz. But she had escaped them all! Yes, she had run away to the solitary confinment of the powder room, where she continued to look timidly at the face in the mirror that claimed to be her. She smiled despairingly. "You are the beauty. The talented one. All the young men want YOU. But what do you care? While hundreds of girls would kill for the gifts you have, you'd rather be out riding your horse. This isn't you. This isn't where you belong!" Jumping at the knock at the door, she heard her mother's voice. "Juliet! Come out here! Prince Victor wants to dance with you!" Juliet rolled her eyes. Victor, Prince of Wales, had insisted to dance with her 3 times this evening already! "Coming, Mother." She replied, trying to hide the despair in her voice. She walked back out the the main room with her mother. As all eyes turned towards her, Prince Victor walked up to her, bowed, and asked for her to join him in a Vienesse Waltz. She complied, and off they went, swooping up and down and turning with the most wonderful grace. They held the audience in awe. Juliet, in her long, flowing turquoise and white off-the-shoulder gown, and Victor, in his black tuxedo and red tie, caught the eye of many as they swept across the golden dance hall. Victor was charming. With his long, black hair, and his sparkling black eyes, he was the ladies' man. Girls hung on his every word as he made his rounds at parties, flirting vivaciously with every young lady. He was tall. At least 6 feet 3 inches, he was broad shouldered and built. He was the desire of the party. And yet Juliet was not happy. Victor wasn't for her. She wanted a country boy. Someone that was not afraid to get mud all over himself. Victor was simply too pretty for her. Although he was charming and handsome, he looked like he hadn't had a hard day's work in his life. Finally, the dance ended, and Juliet walked amid many admirers to a chair. Exasperatingly, she glanced at the young men surrounding her. She recognized a few faces. Victor, of course, along with Prince William of England, Prince Jaque of France, and Prince Frederick of Scotland. Prince William, a mousy, lanky thing with hazel eyes bleached blonde hair, sat on her right. Prince Jaque, a short, fat boy with lazy brown eyes and short golden hair. And Prince Frederick, with his strawberry blonde hair and exciting green eyes. All three, not completely lacking in looks, and yet not her taste. She glanced impatiently around before heading to the refreshments table. None of the young men followed. They knew the look on her face. She needed to be let alone.

Juliet walked as fast as she could while still maintaining a ladylike caper to the refreshments table. Her face lightened up as she walked into the room, realizing she was finally alone. She stopped, smiled to herself, and then headed towards the hors d'vours. Reaching for a small, dainty cake, she found her hand colliding with a rough looking hand that belonged to a young man across the table. Glancing upward, she met eyes with a handsome boy of 19. "Excuse me!" He compiled politely. She smiled. She could not look away from his eyes! Beautiful, and deep blue, they sparkled to the core, even more than Victor's. "What is your name?" He knocked her abruptly out of her trance and back into reality. "Juliet." She replied quietly, blushing intensly in the mean time. "Nice to meet you, Juliet. My name is Romeo." Struck by the name, Juliet looked up. "Where have I heard that before?" She wondered silently. He lifted her hand and kissed it gently. He was about as tall as she. With sturdy boots and a suit on, he looks rugged and handsome. His soft, sandy brown hair was cut short and clunge closely to his head. Looking up, he smiled. He had a beautiful smile. With perfect teeth, white as the driven snow, his full lips burst back to portray them. Juliet couldn't help but smile herself. Enjoying this moment together, it was soon cut short when Victor stamped boldly into the room. "Juliet!" He proclaimed loudly. "My dear! May I have the honor of another dance with you?" Juliet shook her head lightly as Romeo dropped her hand gently. "Actually, I was just leaving!" Juliet announced as her mother walked unexpectedly into the room. "What? Oh, yes we are! Come along, my dear Juliet." Her mother commanded. Juliet followed her gratefully, as Victor and Romeo watched. "Wait!" Juliet turned around. "Let me walk you to your carraige. Please?" Romeo insisted eagerly. "Alright." Juliet whispered quietly, trying to conceal her enthusiasm. Grasping her arm, Romeo walked her outside while Victor watched jealously.

"Goodnight, Juliet. It was very pleasant meeting you." Romeo said with a smile as he helped her into her carraige. "Thank you, Romeo." Juliet smiled into his blue eyes. He shut the door carefully, and the carraige rode away, carrying a blushing Juliet and her parents.

It wasn't until later that night, while laying in her bed, that shocking reality came back to Juliet. "The Voice!" She whispered to herself, excitedly. "What was that name again?" She slid back upon her pillow in delightful suprise, as she barely breathed the name.

"Romeo..."

I am new to this...

First off, I have no CLUE what the "Jesus and Guys" thing was! I don't think that was me! Haha so that's a weird way to start of blogging.... ANYHOOOOO

I'm new to this whole blogspot stuff. DO NOT ADD ME UNLESS YOU KNOW ME! I will kick your face in. I'm a southern gal and I'm not afraid of putting you in your place ;)

I forgot to put this in my interests, but I love hiking, hunting, and fishing! They are so much fun! My favorite places in the world are Destin, Florida, and Meridian, Texas. Nothing is better than sitting around the campfire, making S'mores, and singing campfire songs or talking about life with a bunch of friends.

Yea... anyways... I'm going to cut this short because apparently Baker has told me that I need to make a link to my page or something.... So I'm going to do that now... Talk to y'all later!(:
